5 must-have items for bathing your newborn baby

I remember the first time I bathed my newborn, I felt completely lost! I prepared everything related baby bathes in advance, however with time I learned what was really essential, and what is less, especially when under budget.

In this post, I gathered a list of 5 must-have items to ensure a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable bathing experience for your little ones.

1.Baby Bath

A dedicated baby bath is essential for providing a safe and comfortable environment for your newborn during bath time. Opt for a baby bath tub that is specifically designed with newborns in mind, offering ample support and a contoured shape to cradle your baby securely while bathing.

One of my favorite baths is ‘Frida Baby 4-in-1 Grow-with-Me Baby Bathtub’, as it covers all the stages from newborn to toddlers in one product, also saving the need for a separate bath support, and bath seat later on.

2. Baby Bath Support

If you have a baby bath that does not come with a bath support, you must get one separately in order to provide support and stability to your baby during bath time.

I personally recommend a hard seat that fits directly in your baby bath, rather than the soft cushions. I found the hard seat more sturdy and easy to use, while the cushion had to be adjusted to wherever you wash your baby, and it takes a lot of time to dry up, and can potentially accumulate mold.

3. Burp Cloths

I like covering the baby bath seat with a simple burp close to make it more comfortable and soft. Also can be easily dried and replaced after every use.

4. Baby Bath Thermometer

I must admit, I stopped using the Baby Bath Thermometer after a while, when I learned how to feel that perfect temp. by hand. However, it was very crucial for me for those first weeks until then, and especially in the sensitive newborn stage .

5. Bath Rinse Cup

A rinse cup specifically designed for bath time is a handy tool for gently rinsing your baby’s hair and body. These cups typically feature a soft, flexible design that contours to your baby’s head and body, making it easier to pour water without causing discomfort or splashing.

In Conclusion:

By investing in these six must-have items for baby bath time, you can create a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable bathing experience for your newborn. From providing adequate support and stability to maintaining the right water temperature and using gentle, baby-friendly products, these essentials will help streamline your baby bath time routine and make it a pleasant experience for both you and your little one.
